The map shows the Fortress
Machaerus at right of the Dead Sea.
John's martyrdom took place in the cave at the foot of the Macharus Fortress in Jordan where the beheading took place.
Machaerus is in Jordan, Herod Antipas summer palace
where Herodias' daughter danced for the head of John
the Baptist on this dance floor.
The Lord ask me to redeem the dance on this very floor,
it is still there today, and the good news is that the
dance is redeemed for the Lord!
We both have a great love for Jordan and the Jordanian people. Its a very friendly Nation. Jordan has a great heritage, many places and cities played an important role in ancient days of Israel. The famous Land of Gilead, with the famous City of Jabesh and Ramoth Gilead, as well as Tishbe the City Prophet Elijah was born and grew up, the Land of Gad and Ruben, just to mention a few. It was the land of Israel's Cousins and Brother, Ammon, Moab and Edom. Edom who later was replaced by the Nabateans, the descendants of Nebajoth, the first born son of Ishmael. We can find the places where Elijah was raptured and John the Baptist ministered and died. By the way we both went to these places and the Lord met us there in a awesome way.
Several other places could be mentioned, like the City of Pella, who was a refuge place for the early Church during the days of trouble in Israel when the Romans invaded and destroyed the temple, exactly like our Lord foretold.
There are three great promises given to Jordan we believe will come to fulfillment in our days, the first spoken by Prophet Isaiah:
Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar inhabits.Let the inhabitants of Sela (The famous City of Petra) sing. Let them shout from the top of the mountains. Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare His praise in the coast-lands. The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies. Isaiah 42:11 ~13
Secondly if we go through History we can see, not just in the Old days, but even the modern day Nation is like a twin-brother to Israel. Yes, Jacob of Old had a twin brother Esau and so has modern day Israel, who was birthed out of the same Vision, Jordan. Very similar like Jacob of Old had a struggle with Esau since he was born, in a very similar way Israel had several struggles with Jordan. But there is great hope for both of them: After Jacob of Old met the Angel of the Lord and had a change of heart, received a blessing and a new Name, Israel, he was able to reconcile with Esau.
But Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept. Genesis 33:4
We believe that this is the foundation how God wants to lead Israel and Jordan to become true friends and to watch over each others back, help each other out and truly be a blessing for each other. In the same way God brought Jacob of Old back to be a blessing to his Brother Esau, for the very purpose He brought modern day Jacob back to be a blessing to his twin-brother Jordan:
Please, take my blessing that is brought to you, because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough.” So he urged him, and he took it. Genesis 33:11
And third, one of the great promises God has given to Jordan is, that it will be a place of refuge even during the worst time History will ever encounter:
He (the wicked king from the north) shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. Daniel 11:41
May these great promises be reason of thankfulness to our Lord, and may the Land of Jordan be one of the special places God can manifest His Mercy and Grace like it is written by Apostle Paul:
And that the Gentiles may glorify God for His mercy,
as it is written:
“For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles,
and sing to Your name.”
And again he says:
“Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people!”
“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!”
And again, Isaiah says:
“There shall be a root of Jesse; and He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles. In Him the Gentiles shall hope.”
Romans 15: 9 ~ 12
We bless Jordan today
and may the Love, Presence and Glory of our Lord,
Yeshua the Messiah fill you and flow through you today,
like the overflowing water of the River of Jordan in springtime!
